Dining for Women BOMA Fund Rural Entrepreneur Access Project

The BOMA Fund presents, especially for Dining for Women, the Rural Entrepreneur Access Project (REAP) for Women. DFW empowers women living in extreme poverty by funding programs fostering good health, education, and economic self-sufficiency, and cultivates educational dinner circles inspiring individuals to make a difference through the power of collective giving. The BOMA Fund has been chosen as the selected organization for the month of May. Donations from Dining for Women members will support the Rural Entrepreneur Access Project in Loiyangalani, northern Kenya, providing the opportunity for groups of 5 poor women to start a business. BOMA provides the women a grant in two phases, business skills training and mentoring by locally trained Business Mentors for two years. $15000 will launch 60 businesses providing an income to 300 women and their families. The BOMA Fund is the only grass-roots organization working in the Laisamis district and Karare region of northern Kenya. All of bomas programs are locally run, empowering people with the ability to determine their own futures.
